The European Parliamentary Elections are just around the corner, and the need to bridge the gap between Maltese citizens and their MEPs has never been clearer. To this end, BevTalk aims to provide youth with a platform for dialogue and understanding, all while asking some of the hard-hitting questions that usually fly through the filters.
We’ll be tailoring our interviews to address the issues that matter the most to you; from environmental challenges, to the rule of law, the evolving role of the EU and if this should grow or be restrained, and how these big-picture issues affect daily life in Malta.
Of course, being youth-led ourselves, our top priority will be to maintain a commitment to inclusivity and engagement – so we’re not just talking to MEPs; we’re actively seeking to channel your voice – Have a burning question? A topic you want discussed? You can directly influence our interviews.
Submit your questions and topics through our social media posts’ comment sections, reply to our Instagram and Facebook stories, or reach out via our website or at info@bevmalta.org. Your involvement is key to the success of BevTalk.
Why this Matters
MEPs can be elusive – we elect them with great fanfare, but then they’re off to ‘Brussels’ and we seldom actually hear from them unless someone does something really great (or really not great). And so it is even more vital that we ensure as many people can attain an understanding of our MEPs viewpoints as is possible – so get involved, stay informed, and help us amplify Malta’s voice in the European Union.
Our journey begins tomorrow with the very first of many interviews (stay tuned on our socials to find out who).
